BET Awards Lineup is Out Packed With A-Listers
The BET Awards are preparing for their milestone 25th anniversary. For this big event, the award is bringing a stacked lineup. Also, an A-list host promised a night that honored the legacy and future of Black culture.
On Thursday, BET unveiled the first wave of performers set to take the stage at the 2025 BET Awards. It is coming live on Monday, June 9, from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Headliners include hip-hop heavyweight Lil Wayne. Next to him are visionary Teyana Taylor and rising rap powerhouse GloRilla. Of course, it couldn’t be without avant-garde hitmaker Playboi Carti and multihyphenate artist Leon Thomas.

“We’re setting the tone for a night that celebrates 25 years of impact, creativity, and Black culture,” said Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “With electrifying performances from some of the biggest names in music and an iconic comedic host. The BET Awards 2025 will be a can’t-miss celebration of everything the culture represents.”
BET Awards and Big Comebacks
Hence, this year’s ceremony will be held by comedian and actor Kevin Hart. Thus, he will mark his return to the BET Awards stage after hosting in 2011. Hart shared his enthusiasm in an earlier statement.
“I love a celebration! It’s a chance to reflect, cherish, and honor life’s unforgettable moments. I’m truly honored to host the 25th BET Awards and celebrate the culture’s biggest night.”
So, the awards ceremony arrives with a nominations list that reads like a who’s who of contemporary Black music. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with ten nominations, closely followed by Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla. Thus, each of them is earning six nods. It’s a lineup that reflects the genre-spanning brilliance defining the current era of music.
The celebration extends beyond the awards show itself. BETX, an immersive fan festival, will run June 5–8 in Los Angeles, turning the city into a hub of live performances, community events, and cultural conversations leading up to the big night.
Thus, the 2025 BET Awards air Monday, June 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET, live from the Peacock Theater. So, with its blend of high-energy performances and poignant tributes, this year’s show is poised to be one for the history books.
