In anticipation of the much-awaited film, “Bob Marley: One Love,” set to hit theaters on February 14th, Island Records and Tuff Gong proudly announce the release of the EP BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE (MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE FILM). This seven-track EP features reinterpretations of essential songs by the legendary Jamaican reggae icon, showcasing the talent of contemporary artists such as Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, Bloody Civilian, and Skip Marley, the grandson of Bob Marley.

The Marley family played an integral role in selecting and approving all the tracks on the EP, reinforcing the enduring relationship between Island Records, the Marley family, and Jamaica. The EP reflects the same connection and dedication seen in the film. Notably, five out of the seven songs on the EP originated from the landmark 1977 RIAA gold LP, Exodus, by Bob Marley & the Wailers. These include “Natural Mystic,” “Exodus,” “Waiting in Vain,” “Three Little Birds,” and the eponymous “One Love.”

Cedella Marley, reflecting on the project, stated, “The mission is always to spread Daddy’s music to every corner of the Earth, and we were very thoughtful in handpicking these artists. Having his songs rebirthed at the same time we get to show the world his story through this movie is something that my family and I are extremely proud to be a part of.”

Paramount Pictures describes “Bob Marley: One Love” as a celebration of the life and music of an icon who inspired generations with his message of love and unity. This film, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita, delves into the powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.

The EP, BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE (MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE FILM), offers a captivating tracklist:

  1. Bloody Civilian – “Natural Mystic”
  2. Skip Marley – “Exodus”
  3. Daniel Caesar – “Waiting in Vain”
  4. Kacey Musgraves – “Three Little Birds”
  5. Wizkid – “One Love”
  6. Jessie Reyez – “Is This Love”
