Megan Thee Stallion is officially back and arriving just in time for this summer’s tone. The Houston music icon launched the next chapter of her career by releasing her new single “Whenever.” The track dropped last Friday (April 25).

The blistering track marks Megan’s first official single of 2025. Thus, following a teaser earlier this month during the Coachella frenzy. Announced amid the desert festival’s chaos, “Whenever” arrives as a bold declaration that Megan’s reign is far from over.

Additionally, Megan unveiled the song’s striking Western-inspired cover art earlier this week. Channeling a cinematic gunslinger, she poses in a cowboy hat beneath bold taglines. “It’s whatever, b—h, it’s whenever h—!” True to form, Megan continues to blend humor, braggadocio, and swagger into her evolving artistic persona.

We still don’t know if “Whenever” will ultimately appear in her forthcoming album. Thus, Megan confirmed during a recent TikTok Live session that a full project is in the works. “I’m really just trying to figure out who I want to do features with at this point in life,” she shared candidly with fans. “I only want to work with artists that I haven’t collaborated with yet and people that I actually listen to in my free time — people I genuinely f— with.”

Megan Thee Stallion and New Era in Music

Though details about “Act: III” remain tightly under wraps, Megan did reveal that rapper Doechii sits high on her “album wish list,” teasing a potential collaboration that already has fans buzzing.

Fresh off a high-energy showing at Coachella, Megan’s momentum is undeniable. Her set was a highlight during the festival’s first weekend. She featured a string of surprise guests, including Queen Latifah, Ciara, and Victoria Monét. However, her closing performance of “Mamushi” was abruptly cut short. Due to festival organizers pulling her mic, allegedly after she ran over her allotted time.

Still, technical hiccups couldn’t dim the star power Megan Thee Stallion brought to the stage — or the excitement surrounding her next moves with “Whenever,” Megan has once again proven that when she decides to take the mic, the world listens.
