Alkaline’s highly anticipated New Rules Festival will return to Jamaica on July 5, 2025, at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium. This year’s event is unique in the sense that it will be the first time the festival will be held outside of Kingston, making it more accessible to fans in western Jamaica and beyond.

The decision to host the festival in Trelawny is particularly meaningful for Alkaline, as it is his mother’s hometown. His manager, Kereena Beckford, explained that the decision is geared towards connecting with fans who have for so long been excluded from major entertainment activities in Jamaica.

From its beginnings in 2017, the New Rules Festival has been a staple of Jamaican musical life, highlighting legacy stars and emerging talent. Alkaline’s high-energy live shows and chart-topping hits have made him one of dancehall’s most dominant artists, and his enthusiasm for bringing the genre to new heights is echoed in the festival’s mission.

Tickets for the event went on sale on March 7, 2025, via TicketGateway. Fans were warned to purchase their tickets early since there are thousands that will be attending, and no one would wish to miss this historic event. The festival is part of a wider multi-city tour that includes Boston, London, Toronto, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines in 2025.

New Rules Festival also aims to contribute to the development of communities. These events play a significant role in boosting local economies by creating jobs and supporting vendors. Alkaline’s publicist, Rickardo Shuzzr, noted how these efforts are aligned with the artist’s vision of not just popularizing music but also building communities.
