Vybz Kartel Goes on New Tour “Worl’ Boss” Across States
Vybz Kartel is taking his global resurgence. The Jamaican dancehall icon has officially announced the Worl’ Boss Tour. It will become his first tour after release with a 15-date international run. Among them are highly anticipated performances across the UK.
So, the tour kicks off on May 24 at the National Stadium in Guyana. We will see Kartel bring his signature blend of gritty lyricism and melodic dancehall to stages across countries. Fans can catch him in the Caribbean, North America, and Europe. Also, Vybz has marquee dates, such as Trinidad’s One Caribbean Music Festival, Paris, Atlanta, and more. The tour culminates on September 19 at BP Pulse Live in Birmingham. Thus, it will be Kartel’s first UK stage appearance in over 20 years and a pivotal moment in his career renaissance.
The tour announcement follows a remarkable streak of milestones for Kartel. Since regaining his freedom and visa, the self-proclaimed “King of Dancehall” has wasted no time reclaiming the spotlight. He graced the cover of Billboard in January. Also, he reissued a 10th-anniversary deluxe edition of Viking (Vybz Is King) with seven new tracks. He didn’t forget to make a red carpet appearance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Thus, he landed his first-ever nomination for Best Reggae Album, thanks to the 2024 EP Party With Me.
Vybz Kartel and Connection With UK
The UK has long been a second home to Kartel’s music, and will play a key role in this new chapter. Earlier this year, he received the Impact Award at the MOBOs in London. It followed a blistering medley of his greatest hits, and his upcoming UK dates are expected to be nothing short of electric. Fans can also catch him in Baltimore and at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn this August. There, he will lead the pack with five nominations at the Caribbean Music Awards.
Coinciding with the tour announcement is the release of “Pretty Girls,” Kartel’s latest single, which was first released under a new partnership with Steven “Steve-O” Carless’ Defiant Records. Produced by Now or Never Miami, the track pulses with breezy dancehall rhythms and a celebratory tone — a perfect soundtrack for a summer set to be dominated by the World’s Boss himself.
“I have had so many blessings this year,” Vybz Kartel said. “The summer is ours, and we are ready to take the world by storm — more passport stamps, more ‘Pretty Girls,’ and endless possibilities.”
Thus, after two decades marked by cultural dominance and personal tribulation, Vybz Kartel’s return isn’t just a comeback — it’s a global reclamation of his legacy, with the UK at the heart of it.
