Music of Black Origin aka MOBO awards for best Caribbean Music Act has recently shared the six dancehall artists running for this year’s coveted prize. Spice, Koffee, Skillibeng, Popcaan, Shenseea, and Sean Paul have made it to the list.

MOBO has decided to create the Best Caribbean Music Act instead of the previous Best Reggae Act category, originally created in 1997, and won last year by Shenseea.

This year marks the 25th anniversary for MOBO, and will take place at the OVO Arena in London on November 30.

Kanya King CBE is MOBO’s founder, and recently announced that this year would be an unprecedented event, with another new category for Best Electronic/Dance Act.

He shares:

“MOBO continues to rise and create a cultural and social footprint, it will continue to be an agent for positive change in arts, culture, music, and society as a whole. Via our MOBOLISE career development platform we aim to create meaningful change, opportunities, and equality in the workplace,” she also said on the organization’s website.
